You Can’t See What Someone Has Liked on Their Instagram Profile
Let’s get this out first: Instagram doesn’t allow you to specifically see what someone has liked on the platform. People can like posts, videos, Stories, and other content, but there’s no way to see that activity in a list.
The same applies to all the posts you’ve liked—there’s no way for someone to see a list of things you’ve liked.
You Can Manually Check Posts to See Who Has Liked Them
While there’s no official log of your likes, you can manually check posts and see if a specific user has liked them. As you may already know, Instagram lets you see the list of users who have liked a particular post. This works even for private Instagram accounts.
First, launch Instagram on your phone or computer and open a post that you think someone has liked. Select the current like list on the post (shown underneath the like, comment, and share buttons).
Here, you can scroll through the list to find the person you’re looking for. If you don’t see a specific user on this, they haven’t liked this post.
Another way to find someone’s likes is to check their “Following” list. You may be able to use the accounts in this list to find posts the person has liked. To get there, access a user’s Instagram profile page and select “Following.” If the account is private, you’ll have to send a follow request and wait for the account holder to approve your request.
On the following page, choose an account to see its posts. Then, open an individual post, select the like list option, and see if your user is on the list.
Instagram doesn’t allow users to hide their likes (though you can choose to hide like counts), which means if someone has liked a post, you’re guaranteed to see them on the like list (unless they’ve blocked you).
Be Wary of Third-Party Apps Looking for Instagram Likes
If you’ve performed a search on Google on how to find someone’s Instagram likes, you’ve likely come across apps claiming to help you find this information. We recommend against these apps.
As mentioned, Instagram doesn’t officially release a list of someone’s likes. This means these apps can’t provide you with the data you’re looking for. One way these apps could theoretically function is by scanning all the public posts on Instagram, finding the people who have liked those posts, and saving that list. This is time and resource-consuming, and it’s unlikely an app will do it.
More often than not, when an app claims to help you find someone’s social media details, that app is trying to steal users’ data. You shouldn’t trust or use such apps on your devices. If you’ve already signed up for such a service, we recommend delinking your social media account and uninstalling the app from your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC, Mac, iPhone, or Android device.
